The Assistant Project Officer will provide support to the Comorbidity Capacity Building Initiative through the Cross Sectorial Support and Strategic Partnerships Project (CSSSPP) in the following areas:
• Support research and analysis into relevant and current issues in the AOD sector with a focus on comorbidity;
• Help develop reports and information bulletins and content on current initiatives and research including aspects of service quality and workforce development for dissemination within the AOD sector, particularly through e-newsletters and the SANDAS website;
• Support the CSDC in developing and implementing training and professional development events and activities for the AOD sector including the administration of a workshops and regional visits program;
• Provide ad hoc information and support to AOD agencies funded through the Improved Services Initiative to assist with service improvement;
• Help develop and prepare procedural documentation and reporting relating to the operation of project;
• Represent SANDAS in meetings and other forums as required; and
• Help develop project reports, including information to support project funding acquittal reporting.
• Presentations as required such as the promotion of any SANDAS eLearning modules.
• Other duties as required.

As an AOD Counsellor you will ensure the delivery of the Moreland Hall program within the prison environment. You will be responsible for providing counselling, psycho-educational group programs, and will work closely with prison officers.One of the positions is a senior role and will provide clinical leadership to the team as well as providing general leadership in the absence of the Manager.
The senior position is fixed term until 30 June 2012 and the other fixed term until 30 March 2012 to backfill a staff member on leave.To be successful in either role you will have degree qualifications in Social Work, Psychology, Nursing, or Allied Health Sciences, Cert 4 in AOD or have 4 key competencies, qualifications in dual diagnosis or willingness to undertake, a current Victorian drivers license, and experience working in the AOD sector, particularly with a forensic client base or in a corrections setting.

THE ROLE
· A newly created senior management role leading ACON’s Healthy Communities Program which brings together our highly respected and professional alcohol and other drugs and anti homophobic and same sex domestic violence program response teams.
· Lead and inspire 10 full time, part time and volunteer staff across two multidisciplinary teams in designing, implementing and evaluating innovative, evidence-based and highly effective drug and alcohol and anti-homophobic and same sex domestic violence programs and services to ACON’s communities.
· Strengthen ACON’s partnerships and stakeholder relationships with a wide range of non-government and government agencies in related policy, clinical, research and program delivery settings.
· Provide professional harm reduction policy and program advice to ACON leadership and services.
· Work with leading clinicians, researchers and health promoters.

An exciting opportunity has become available to join the Navigations Team that provides community based alcohol and other drug (AOD) counselling. This is a unique position that operates within the family based, child centred service of Uniting Care Kildonan in Reservoir.
The position will provide counselling and case management to individuals affected by substance use and co-occurring mental health conditions and will operate within the Kildonan Integrated Placement Prevention and Reunification Service (IPPRS). This is a new position to trial an integrated service delivery model to clients referred from child protection services. The work is expected to be outreach with a client load of 4-6 at any one time.
The successful applicant will have:
· Relevant tertiary qualification with core drug and alcohol competencies along with a minimum of 3 years experience in the AOD field.
· Experience working with clients from diverse backgrounds & with complex presentations.

We operate from nine branches in the state, including Fremantle, Rockingham and Mandurah which collectively represent the South Metro Community Drug Service. This innovative service employs an integrated model to provide a range of AOD services, including medical pharmacotherapies.
We are seeking applications for a full time Coordinator located in Fremantle and an acting opportunity in our Rockingham office for a period of up to one year (due to maternity leave). The successful applicants will coordinate delivery of integrated AOD services in the Fremantle or Rockingham area with a particular focus on counselling and community development programs. Major duties include staff supervision and development, community development initiatives and liaison with integrated service staff.
